Modern Handwriting
The objective of the Modern Handwriting programme is to provide for a modern, well-defined carefully sequenced system that will facilitate good handwriting. Modern Handwriting takes account of the findings of extensive consultations with teachers regarding their preferred styles of writing and their approaches and attitudes to the development of acceptable skills in this area. The programme is also in line with the recommendations of the latest Primary School Curriculum e.g. a prewriting book (Book A) has been developed for use in Junior Infant classes, while formal works commenced in Book B, presumably in Senior Infants in most schools.
